Project Overview

Cassidy was pivoting her business—from being a copywriter under her own name to a podcast editor under a new brand identity. While her values and personality were staying put, the audience, focus, and energy of her brand were shifting. She needed a visual identity that could communicate her new direction with clarity and personality.

Our goal was to build a brand system that would feel vibrant, approachable, and distinctly her—without losing the professional edge she’d cultivated. We kept a few familiar color notes from her previous brand but gave the rest a refresh to better suit the new tone and industry.

Objectives

  • Support a business pivot from copywriting to podcast editing
  • Build an entirely new visual identity while honoring the brand’s existing values
  • Design a logo and assets that felt bold, personal, and unmistakably Cassidy
  • Provide branded tools she could use consistently across Instagram and beyond

My Role & Deliverables

  • Logo Suite: A custom illustrated logo based on Cassidy’s silhouette (hair, glasses, headphones) paired with a bold lowercase serif font for personality and charm
  • Visual Identity: Refreshed color palette and typography system grounded in playfulness and confidence
  • Custom Icons: 30+ hand-drawn style icons for use across social media, website, highlights, merch, and stickers
  • Custom Pattern: A repeating background element inspired by audio waveforms, designed in three versatile colorways
  • Social Media Templates: A set of Canva-friendly templates for quotes, tips, client love, and educational content
  • Brand Guidelines: A comprehensive reference doc to help her keep everything consistent

Design Approach

The brand needed to balance creativity and tech-savvy reliability—and feel human. The illustrated logo is literally Cassidy, which helps podcast clients feel an immediate connection. The palette brings together bold royal blue and berry tones with playful pastels and strong black accents to keep things clean and modern.

The custom icons and pattern add cohesion, flexibility, and visual interest while keeping the tone light and fun.
